Help

I have just opened i Google account, but have no idea how to put my friends from Facebook on it does any one know a simple, or should I say idiot proof way of doing it. I am trying to be prepared in case I hate the new FB proposed changes so much I move, or everyone starts to leave it, as has been suggested, as a possible future event.
Seeing as I do not have an internet phone, and have no desire to tweet, and do not have a compulsion to inform the the internet community of my doings and precise position, every day in life, I manage quite happily with the odd blog, and comments on friends sites. When my phone gives up the ghost, hopefully not for a another few years, I may consider one, but I still would not bother tweet every day.
Any help my friends can give me, would be appreciated, as there is no point a site were I can not find any one or they me. Mind you perhaps my friends would think it is the best thing I have done, they finally get rid of me at last, seeing as I can not find anyone on i Google.

Wishing everyone a Merry Xmas and a Happy 2012

Locked out of Facebook

veh
Friday 13th Comments

Have you ever had one of those weeks, as regards face book, I can not get in to my own account, in spite of following all their instructions. It is a good job I am not addicted to face book, as I would be suffering by now. The only reason I am on Face book is I enjoyed one of their games, but as an ex Girl Guide, (many years ago) I like to be prepared. I would like some suggestions for a new social networking site, I did read of a new one, that people who were leaving Facebook joined. Can anyone tell me its name. Any advice from my friends would be helfull

Came across this very interesting article

Mayan secrets about 2012 to be released by Mexican government

August 21, 2011
– MEXICO - The Mexican government is releasing state-held secrets about the end of the Mayan calendar to the makers of a documentary, "Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond,"TheWrap has learned. The information -- protected for 80 years -- is expected to reveal Mayan beliefs in future catastrophes and wisdom characterized as "shocking," producer Raul Julia-Levy, son of actor Raul Julia, told TheWrap. The end of the Mayan calendar in December 2012 has long given rise to theories and speculation about the end of the world. The agreement will allow Julia-Levy to film in never-before-seen locations. "The Mayans used to construct one pyramid over another," tourism minister for the Mexican state of Campeche Luis Augusto Garcia Rosado told TheWrap. "In the site at Calakmul (pictured below right), workers for INAH [the National Institute of Anthropology and History] have discovered rooms inside the pyramid that have never been seen or explored before.”And we're letting this documentary film there, to see what has been discovered inside the pyramid." Julia-Levy (above) said he'd been made aware of the secret Mayan information by former Mexican president Vicente Fox -- a friend of his family -- and that it took four years of phone calls to finally get the OK from current president Felipe Calderon. "This is very important for humanity, not just for Mexico," said Julia-Levy. "This information has been protected for 80 years, and now it's important for people to understand the series of events that are coming, and the consequences for all of us." The English-language documentary will be directed by Juan Carlos Ruflo (whose other films include the 2006 Sundance winner "In the Pit"), and will begin shooting later this year. Elbert said the filmmakers are talking to investors and waiting for the government to give them their first look at the material and the site. One big condition from the Mexican government was that the film get an initial theatrical release, which is planned for next fall, said Ed Elbert who is co-producing along with Julia-Levy and Sheila M. McCarthy and executive producer Eduardo Vertiz. "It has to be released before the end of the Mayan calendar, which is Dec. 21, 2012," said Julia-Levy. -Reuters

What next

I was watching a few films on sky, the first for a while. Then at the end of the film the credits came up. Why do they need to thank everyone, who is remotely connected with the film, gone are the days of actors, Director camera men, lighting and Sound. It is beginning to seem like a  novel they are writing. What got me was that the Chefs who did the catering were mentioned, I am sure that they did a great job for the film crew, but must they be mentioned in the credits. Does that mean if they had done a bad job, the crew would not have made the film?
Then the bank was given credit, for providing the money for the film, with a mention of the vice president of the bank, I do realise that with out backing the film could not be made. Does anyone really care about knowing every single person who was involved. Will you love or hate the film any better.?

Does it involve the modern obsession, that everyone wants to be famous for at least five minutes. I do feel that it is now verging on the ridiculous, and they should all get a grip on themselves. It really has gone too far. That seems to be the way of a lot of things in modern life. Common sense seems to have gone out the window.

This is a E mail I received. Enjoy

Dear Mr. Cameron,
>
Please find below our suggestion for fixing England 's economy.
>
Instead of giving billions of pounds to banks that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.   You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:
>
There are about 10 million people over 50 in the work force.  Pay them £1 million each severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
>
1) They MUST retire - ten million job openings - unemployment fixed
>
2) They MUST buy a new British car. Ten million cars ordered - car Industry fixed
>
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - housing crisis fixed
>
4) They MUST send their kids/grand kids to school/college/university - Crime rate fixed
>
5) They MUST buy £100 WORTH of alcohol/tobacco a week.....and there's your money back in duty/tax etc
>
6) Instead of stuffing around with the carbon emissions trading schemes that makes us pay for the major polluters, tell the greedy bastards to reduce their pollution emissions by 75% within 5 years or we shut them down.
>
It can't get any easier than that!
>
And if more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back their falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances
>
If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know.
>
If not, please disregard.
>

Other points you might consider:
>
Put the pensioners in jail and the criminals in a nursing home, then the pensioners would have access to showers, hobbies and walks. They'd also receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs etc. They'd have constant video monitoring so if assistance was needed they'd have immediate help. Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be washed and ironed as needed.   There would be a guard to check on them every 20 minutes and staff to bring their meals and snacks to their cell.
>
They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.
>
They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counselling, pool and education.
>
Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, PJ's and legal aid would be free, on request.
>
There would be private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with gardens for anyone who felt the need to exercise.
>
Each senior could have a PC a TV radio and daily phone calls and there would be a board of directors to hear complaints, and all guards would have a code of conduct that would have to be strictly adhered to.
>
The criminals would get cold food, be left all alone and unsupervised day and night.  Lights off at 8pm, and showers once a week; live in a tiny room and pay £600.00 per week without any hope of ever getting out.
>
Think about this (more points of contention):
>
                                                           ******
>
COWS
>
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that, during the mad cow epidemic, our government could track a single cow, born almost three years ago in Appleby, right to the stall where she slept in the county of Cumbria?   And, they even tracked her calves to their individual stalls.. But they are unable to locate 125,000 illegal immigrants wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each illegal immigrant a cow.
>
                                                           ******
>
THE 10 COMMANDMENTS
>
The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse or Parliament, is this -
>
You cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal', 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians..... It creates a hostile work environment.
>
                                                           ******
>
Also;
>
Think about this ... If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone -- YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM! It is time for us grumpy old folk of Britain to speak up!

February thoughts.

Well I have just been reading Eddie's Blog, about the full moon tonight. I do hope it brings about changes for everyone, hopefully for the better. Everyone seems to have experienced problems in their lives over the past year, and negative energy seems to have been at full force in our lives. I know that we are meant to look at all these things as a teaching experience, but it gets hard to do, when all you seem to get is the downside not the up.
I assume all these tough times are the dark before the Dawn, and we hopefully have emerged, stronger, wiser, and better than we where before.

Sunday 9 January 2011

Well it is a New Year

I have not been on this site for a while, as all I had was problems getting into it, if I managed to read and comment on other Blogs I was lucky. So it is a case of making hay while the sun shines for me. I had a very quiet Christmas, just us and my sister. Walter has not been well for some time, as he keeps getting repeat chest infections.
I spend yesterday, on a Cleo hunt, (for those of you who did not read my Blogs on Spaces, she is a Ragdoll cat.) I first assumed she was in Bed with Walter sleeping. When he got up, no Cleo. I then started looking, no sign of her in her usual haunts. I eventually found her in my Wardrobe, she had to be in it for at least fours hours, since that was the time I had last opened it, to put ironing in. She had not cried or made any attempt to make a noise, to be released. Mind you she made a dive for her food and water dish. I can not make up my mind if she is such a good little cat, or a very lazy one.

I hope with the start of the new year, things get better for every one, last year seemed to bring everyone problems, on a personnel level or a national one. According to Chinese Astrology, this year is meant to be a calming one, giving respite to everyone, after last year. Hope they are right .
We could all use a quiet peaceful time to recover from last year.

Will go now,
love Rosemary
